Smart farming

  • by

By the advent of the Internet of Things (IOT), not only humans can communicate with smart gadgets, but also objects can communicate with each other through networking and precise programming with a common language. Internet of Things for automatic and remote control of the growing environment of crops and livestock is used.In smart agriculture, in other words, the same smart farm, all factors are under control with the aim of increasing profitability and production. Eliminating environmental risks (diseases and pests) and controlled consumption of water and energy are important goals of smart agriculture. In fact, smart agriculture: agricultural automation in order to increase production and reduce energy consumption is an excellent solution for developing agricultural products and supplying sufficient and healthy food for the world.

Difference between a traditional farm and smart farm

In a traditional farm, all products are grown and harvested in the same way throughout the region. But in smart agriculture, the soil of each farm is analyzed to identify suitable and profitable crops. In addition to the smart farm, preparing a smart house or a smart villa will create a luxury and safe area for you.

In traditional farms, scientific research is not usually done on the type of fertilizers and pesticides for pest control, and sometimes the use of fertilizers and pesticides instead of more productivity causes loss of crops and losses. But in smart agriculture, choosing the type of fertilizer and poison to take care of natural resources, and reducing additional costs, is of great help to farmers, and early detection of the use of fertilizer and poison only in the damaged area, in addition to saving money on the purchase of fertilizers and pesticides, from damage. It is prevented to the environment.

According to the latest news from Tehran Times, it is supposed to accelerate smart agriculture in Iran with the participation of knowledge-based companies, and new ideas and innovative plans will be used to achieve these goals. Currently, about 30 knowledge-based companies in Iran are trying to get involved in the process of agricultural automation in the country by producing 120 technological products. In fact, the Smartization of agriculture with Iran's dry climate is the best method for greater productivity.

چرخه کشاورزی هوشمند
  1. View : Sensors record observational data from crops, livestock, soil or atmosphere.
  2. Diagnosis : Sensor values are fed to a host IoT operating system with pre-defined rules and decision models – also called “business logic” – that determine the state of the monitored object and identify a defect or need.
  3. Decision : Once problems are detected, the user or machine learning-based components of the IoT platform determine if location-specific treatment is required.
  4. Action : After evaluates and acts, the cycle repeats
